The futon is the modern reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese mattress and is particularly suitable for use as a children’s mattress thanks to its properties of softness and natural support.

The Futon is a “made to measure” for Bianconiglio Kids DONDO by Italian artisans and is made up of 2 layers of soft organic cotton.

FOR MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

A cotton futon is a natural, hypoallergenic and cruelty free product. To extend the life of your futon, there are a few tricks to follow.

Make your futon breathe. The hygroscopic properties of cotton ensure that it absorbs all excess moisture, ensuring a cool and dry sleep even for a child who sweats a lot. Keep the futon in open air for a couple of hours after use, so that the accumulated moisture can be released again.

Tap and turn the futon. Performing this operation every one or two weeks, ensures that the cotton flaps remain soft, and body-prints on the surface disappear.

Cleaning instructions. The sun is the best natural disinfectant for the futon! The Japanese leave their futons outdoors during daily maintenance to keep them healthful. In case of stains, the futon must be dry cleaned or treated with a damp cloth soaked in trichlorethylene. Finally, you can use a steam cleaner to sanitize it, but making sure it dries well after completing this operation, to avoid the onset of mold.
